This carpet, woven for the Albertina Palace in Vienna, is based on a design from 1810, with detailing taken from architectural elements in the room and the border from a contemporary continental pattern book. It is woven as an Austrian Savonnerie, with the colouring taken from historic examples in store at the MAK in Vienna.
