Console Table in Painted Timber. Based on a design by Robert Adam from 1770, this massive table was constructed and hand carved in solid timber, and given a lightly distressed Eighteenth century off-white distemper finish. A piece of antique Travertine Marble was sourced for the top, and re-cut to fit. The owner's crest was carved and cast in pewter and attached to the block at the top of one of the back legs (just visible in the photograph above) to confirm the table's provenance for future generations.
